Food was pretty good but the service was lacking. While the waitresses were nice, they got 2 out of 3 orders wrong as it related to our sides. The Piccadillo Habanero was good but I really wished it had raisins & olives in it. The ham & cheese sandwich was great! The bread must have been homemade. The pork chunks & sweet plantains were great too!!! I will try this restaurant again,

I have been here quite a few times, the price of the breakfast is outstanding and the actual breakfast is ok at best, nothing special. Service sometimes leaves something to be desired, I give it a solid "eh"

I always stop here when I'm in town. They have the best Cuban food in town. The classic Cuban sandwich is great

Pastries were outstanding. Shared with the table and each one was delicious. Food very home style cooked breakfast. Very yummy but nothing you would go out of your way for. Extremely good prices tho!

I was born and raised in Miami of strong Cuban decent. That being said, I think it goes without say that I know a thing or two of what authentic Cuban and Latin cuisine should be. Azucar on DP is on another level... As you walk into the restaurant you're somewhat transcended into another era of Cuban culture where tradition and pride are in perfect synchronicity. The service is warm, friendly, courteous and exceptional. Then comes the food...folks, I've had Cuban breakfasts in the best places in Miami and this place smokes them at a fraction of the cost. Quality and presentation beyond comparison. If rice and black beans run through your veins, please do yourself a favor and check this place out!

We just moved to the Cape and are beyond excited about our new find! This amazing bakery was perfection! From the friendly service to the food. We can't wait to come here again and again. This will be our new family staple here in Cape Coral!

Went with 4 stars only bc of two things. #1. At any restaurant when you sit down, ita only common coyrtesy to serve the guest water. Whether its gonna be drank or not. It would be nice. #2. They didnt have yellow cheese. No bueno. If it was the firat time, okay. This was the second time my buddy went and no yellow cheese. Other than that. The food was good, service was good, the place is nice and clean inside. I would still recommend it.

Great place. Clean, friendly and affordable. Was happy to know there is a real latin food in town. I had a cafe con leche and a Cuban Sunrise for breakfast. It was just enough to fill me up. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Next time I'm in town I will definitely come back. All pros no cons here.

My boyfriend and I visited Azucar a couple days ago for breakfast. There were about 3 other tables occupied when we sat down to order. We ordered waters first. The waitress came back shortly to take our orders, with no waters. About 15 minutes went by before we received our water. My boyfriends meal came with a coffee, and he did not get it until he asked, and by that time (about 35 minutes after we were seated) our food and his coffee came out. The portions were very small, not bad taste though; nothing special. We were unsure why it took as long as it did to prepare such a basic meal, water, and one coffee. Will not return.

Can't say enough about this place! The food is amazing and fresh. This restaurant is has the BEST Cuban food in the region. Their bakery is also equally as great. I always come to Azucar for dinner if I'm in the area.

The staff is lovely and the cafe con leche is delicious. But the pastries are overly sugary and breakfast ends too early.

Cute, clean little place. Stopped in for a cuban sandwich. It was delicious--my only advice is to bring a friend to share the sandwich--it was HUGE!

Ola! Well let me start this off by saying this. I come to realize I am not a fan of Cuban cuisine . I love Cuban coffee and the roasted pig. It stops for me there. I have been here twice. Both times the people and service are outstanding. Now to the food. The quality is excellent/ BUT the pastries are not very sweet and there is TOO much guava offered. Cuban sandwiches are just ham and cheese with a slice of pork. The bread though crunchy on outside and fluffy inside it is verrrrrrrrrry plain like wonder bread. I was adventurous and tried the Spanish omelet. It was terrible. It was like eating a pancake style omelet incorporated with ham & what I think was a chorizo sausage . TOO well done and arid to my taste buds. So I really did not enjoy my meal. Oh yes I did not ask for hot sauce. I tried what was on the table. Peso Pete I think a Louisianan style sauce. Tasted like a tobasco wayyyy too much vinegar. Oh yes they gave me these potato stixs. The kind that are in the can at the supermarket . THAT JUST PLAIN SUCKS . My bill came under 10 bucks so not too bad. And like I said great service.

My wife and I had lunch at Azucar , I had croqueta preparada sandwich it was the best I had in FL, my wife had the palomilla steak with tostones it was very tasty and good size portion, this is the best authentic cuban restaurant in South West Florida and we should know we are cuban. The owner took care of us and he was very friendly

Ordered some takeout as I saw this place driving by. Talked to the owner who mentioned he left Cuba in 66 and hasn't been back. Had the chicken burrito but with rice instead. Meal was seasoned quite nicely and usually Cuban food is super duper bland! This had nice flavour and seasoning. Attached to the restaurant is a bakery. Most Cuban restos are restaurant/bakery combined! Lots of great selections and a nice Espresso machine that I'm sure makes a mean Cuban coffee! Prices are reasonable and I'd be looking forward to trying something else!

The food was amazing and well portioned. I've grown up in the Cape and have never visited until today. By far the best Latin food in town. I plan on going on Friday for their breakfast.

My Wife and I went to Azucar for lunch. We were greeted promptly and with a smile. Drink orders were taken in a timely manner and upon delivery, food orders were taken. The food was well prepared, flavorful and plentiful. The wait person was attentive and courteous. We can recommend Azucar and will return

one of the best breakfast deals in town cheapest around during the week and the service is awesome. Their empanadas are also the best around. Try their pastries, too.

Love the food here. I usually order either the steak palomilla or the chicken saltimbo (chicken layered with thin ham in a butter and caper sauce) - I have to run a few extra miles after that one, but it is worth it! My wife loves the pork chunks and we always get lots of maduros, particularly good here.

A small/quaint Cuban bakery that serves delicious food at a very reasonable price. They have daily lunch specials usually priced around $5.95 and include traditional dishes like Fricasse de Pollo and Ropa Vieja. The dinner menu is very extensive and has seafood, chicken, beef, and pork offerings. I've been searching for a replacement for Azucar in Southern CA,and after 10 months I still haven't found it.

Had dinner there with my wife last night. Really good authentic cuban food. The staff is very friendly and the service is very good as well. The pace of the meal was comfortable. The desserts were creative and unique. We will definitely return in the near future

Maybe it's because it's been a while since I've had real Cuban food (let's not point fingers but there's a lack in a certain city of genuine Hispanic food overall), but this place stole my heart. The Ropa Vieja was just the perfect level of flavor, moistness, and amount at a cheap price!!! And considering we came as a table of 13 without any warning, the service was speedy, friendly, and very accommodating. I would really strive to write a longer review but this is a place where seeing is believing (just go an experience it! You won't regret it and your wallet will thank you!). Their bakery is pretty good too! I just wish they had more guava pastries.
